If there is one thing I like about being a breadwinner, it's the ability to take control of things in the household. I 'm not saying though that my parents don't have a 'say' anymore. It's just that I am the one who usually decides on things that involve money, such as what to prioritize when paying bills and mortgages.

Aside from that, I'm happy about the respect I get from my siblings and the authority I enjoy discharging my duties and responsibilities to the family. This is exactly what I'll be missing when I get married (hopefully soon!) and the breadwinner title gets passed on to my brother who is the second child.

When it comes to shopping, of course I 'm the priority. Okay, make that the second priority. I can buy whatever I want, given the budget of course. I also admit doing some power trips at times, like when a sibling misbehaves and suddenly asks for money for this need and that, I'd say no. I'd only say yes when that sibling corrects his ways. Talk about being the boss, huh.

So yeah, you can say being a breadwinner has some perks, too. The fun starts when you enjoy them and the trouble...when you abuse the 'powers' vested to you. :)

Hahaha! What I wouldn't give to be the boss for once! I'm the youngest in my family, so I had to move out and live on my own before I could make my own decisions. :D
