Last week, I watched a free concert by up and coming Pinoy performers held at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati. Dubbed as "Tunog Natin: An OPM Concert Series," it aims to revive the Filipino audience's interest for homegrown talents and locally-composed songs. The first in the series, the June 15 concert was presented by real estate developer Avida Land Corporation and coincided the launch date of the second tower of Avida Towers San Lorenzo, their latest condominium offering in Makati.

My superfriend and fellow blogger Nice and I arrived at the venue tad early. We were surprised at the volume of people who showed up to watch the concert. They all looked so excited and having fun. When we found out the line-up of performers that night, we easily got hyped up as well.

Here is the list of Pinoy performers who serenaded the crowd that night:

1. Apo HIking Society stalwart Jim Paredes
2. True Faith
3. Sitti
4. Callalily
5. 6CycleMind
6. Pedicab
7. Princess Velasco
8. Sabrina
9. Myrus (project head of the Tunog Natin concert series)
10. 1:43
11. Aries Sales

What can I say? They were all world-class artists, something that we as Pinoys should be proud of. I particularly liked the performance of 6CycleMind and Mr. Jim Paredes because not only did they sing well, but they also knew how to connect with the audience and sustain their interest.

Tunog Natin is also sponsored by Ayala Land, Banapple and Freego. Stay tuned for more free OPM concerts to be announced in the coming days. :)
