When we say comfort food, we refer to familiar food that bring back memories of the past and improve our emotional state in an instant. Personally speaking, I have a long list of comfort food. It includes chicken noodle soup, lumpiang shanghai, ginisang munggo, adobong pusit, laing, Pinoy style spaghetti and chili con carne, among other dishes. When it comes to desserts, nothing beats anything with chocolate for me. Which was why when I learned about Red Ribbon's Chocolate Fudge Cake, I was more than willing to try it.

CHOCO FUDGE CAKE2

The newest addition to the wide selection of specialty cakes at Red Ribbon, Chocolate Fudge Cake is everyone's comfort food. As Red Ribbon puts it,

Comfort food is like a warm embrace. It’s a back rub after a hard day. It’s a reassuring word. There is no one clear definition of what comfort food is, but we all agree how wonderful it makes us feel even with just a taste.

Red Ribbon whipped up a version of the classic chocolate cake with its new Chocolate Fudge Cake. This sure comfort food list-topper is made with its moist chocolate pound cake layered with luscious chocolate fudge filling and then smothered with velvety chocolate icing. It’s the kind that will make you savor every bite, scrape off the last bit of crumb and icing on the plate, and then lick the fork clean.

True to their words, the Chocolate Fudge Cake I sampled last night during the bloggers event organized by Red Ribbon at Red Ribbon-Fort Bonifacio was moist, sweet and addicting. To introduce us to this new but familiar chocolate-y goodness, there had been a Comfort Food Talk with Sous Chef Sherrie Tan, another Filipino making waves in the culinary world in the US (she's currently the Sous Chef for Peninsula Chicago!).

I'm glad Red Ribbon thought of conceptualizing the Chocolate Fudge Cake. I'm sure it's going to be a hit among Pinoys. After all, the thought of comfort food never fails to give us a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Chocolate Fudge Cake is available in all Red Ribbon stores nationwide. P460 for regular size and P275 for junior.

Thank you and congratulations to Red Ribbon and Protégé PR for a successful launch. :)
