Gone are the days when I would go to the local post office to have my mails sent. Today, I can reach anyone I'd want to send correspondence to in just a few clicks of the mouse. Technology has been very kind to us, really. The machines and gadgets man continue to develop have given us much comfort and made our life easier. But sometimes, you can't help but miss those things that you associate with the olden times, such as typewriters and mail boxes. You can still see some people use them today, they're functionality remains at the highest level, but the way we look at them has changed.

I can still vividly remember my childhood when my mom would ask me to run to our local post office to send mails. I'd always get excited having them stamped because it means I could already insert them one by one to the big wall mount mailbox nearby. The contents of the mailbox are collected and then scheduled for delivery, usually every Friday. Mailboxes in our town are such a joy to look at. They'd get full easily then. I wonder how they are today.

I can relate to your post. Back home in America we had mail delivery to our home six days a week! But now, in our little rural province in the Philippines, we have no mail delivery. I conduct most of my business online now anyway, but I sure looked forward to the mail every day.

@David DeWall: haha. right. these days what i only get to receive from the mailman are billing statements and sometimes, small packages (items bought online). i can't help but miss the simplicity of life before. :)

@eRlyn: kaya nga eh. ako rin puro bills! nakarelate naman ako dun. haha. thanks sa link po. :)
