How the Breadwinner Spent her 26th Birthday

Posted by edelweiza in , , ,

My birthday celebration yesterday was a blast, at least for myself. There was actually no party that took place. I spent the day with Edwin. He filed for a leave yesterday just so he could be with me. I regretted not having done the same on his which was exactly a week ago. (We are both Librans.) Anyway, do you wanna know the things I did on my birthday?

First, Edwin accompanied me to Baclaran Church in the morning and we said some prayers. I am so grateful to God for all the blessings He has showered upon me the past year. A simple prayer wouldn't be enough. We also dropped by First Advance's office (the developer of our Naic, Cavite house) as I had to sign some papers. After that, we headed to Mall of Asia and I treated myself to a plateful of spaghetti meatballs at Chef 'D Angelo. He got the famous Big Bird. We also stopped over at Krispy Kreme for our much-needed sugar fix. I can't get enough of their New York cheesecake. I am daydreaming of it now.

Strolling around the huge shopping complex that was Mall of Asia, I gave myself some lovin' by buying a bag and a shirt from Tomato, as well as a spaghetti top from Surplus. I was itching to buy some accessories, too, but nothing caught my fancy from the six or so shops I hopped into. When I got tired, I asked Edwin to take me home already. I rested for a few minutes and started working on my reports that were due for submission on that day. 'Twas for one of my sidelines. Time went fast. Before I knew it, it was already 7:00 p.m.

After all of that, I felt I still had the energy to cook and cook I did. I rushed to the nearby Save More-Nagtahan and made some spaghetti. I fed my folks with it at around 11 p.m. How's that for a pre-midnight snack?

I also went online and checked my mailboxes and blogs. My Facebook page was flooded with birthday greetings from friends, officemates and even bloggers! Superfriend even posted a birthday post in my name. Almost everyone I know remembered me. My dad kept on looking at my side because I was smiling and laughing and giggling like a teenager crushing on someone. Then suddenly, I turned to him and realized he doesn't know a lot about the Internet yet. (He just knows how to open the computer, type on the keyboard and use the mouse.) And so, my focus shifted. I asked him to sit come up to me and before he knew it, I was already teaching him the basics on the Internet.

Little by little, I introduced him to the world wide web, how to use it and the gazillion things he can do with it. He created his very first email address through my guidance. It was an emotional moment for the both of us. I knew he was thrilled and excited about it. I plan to teach him more about the Internet in the coming nights. I hope his interest for the thing be sustained for good.

I said some prayers and slept at around 2:00 am. It was a full day and a full night filled with precious memories that I'll treasure forever. Indeed, it was a happy birthday for me. :)
