The holidays are fast-approaching in the Philippines. This makes me really excited. This early, Christmas carols are already played on local TV, at department stores and even inside posh hotels and restaurants. No one gets spared from this public display of anticipation for the Yuletide season. But then, let us not forget the message behind all this: celebrating the birth of Christ our savior and expressing gratitude for the blessings showered upon us by God through the years.
Definitely, we should welcome the holidays with open arms. So, what are your plans for the holidays? If I had the money, I want my family and I to experience a Christmas different from our own by booking us to the perfect self catering holidays in Europe. My level of curiosity is rising every time I hear about Christmas celebrations in the West. I wonder how it feels to have what they lovingly call a “white Christmas.”
My top choice for the holidays outside the Philippines is in the United Kingdom. My family and I will enjoy a grand vacation in one of the holiday cottages there. We will go ice skating and people watching. It’s always a delight to immerse oneself in a different culture. We will visit museums, go to nature and themed parks and try out restaurants. We will shop at trendy boutiques until we drop. We will partake of the most lavish Christmas dinner ever. We will exchange presents in front of everyone in the family. We will have a meaningful yet fun Christmas celebration.
And yes, the days following Christmas will be pure bliss. We will explore the nearby places and stay in one of the cornwall cottages in the countryside with an spectacular view of the sea. We will bond as a family and enjoy each second of our vacation. It can’t be more fun than that.
