Last weekend in Cebu, my friends and I went on a road trip to do some sight-seeing. We visited the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, both can be found in Guadalupe, Cebu. We checked out the famous Casa Gorordo Museum on Lopez Jaena St, home of the first Filipino bishop. We also sat on one of the benches by the bay at South Road Park. Just as the roads and the sights in Cebu keep on improving and delighting travelers, the cars and the traffic in the city are increasing in volume as well.

Speaking of cars, our friends John and Taps have just bought a new car. It’s a Kia Sportage and it’s only a few weeks old. It served as our unofficial service as we roamed around the city during our stay there. We cannot be more grateful. John said he initially wanted a new Chevrolet car and but changed his mind at the last minute. I asked why and he answered he soon realized they needed a vehicle that was heavy-duty and less expensive at this point. They have a general merchandise store in Mactan and they need a service car that could fit boxes of supplies comfortably as they shop for stocks almost everyday.

He also mentioned about his old Chevrolet car that has been sitting in their garage for months now. He plans to get a chevy transmission soon and give his good old Chevrolet car a much-needed overhaul. What a great idea! In this time of recession, you really don’t have to buy a new car unless you need one for your business. Your old car only needs some loving and revving up and it could be as good as new.
