After assessing the situation, Malacañang, through Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, eventually decided to suspend work in government offices in Metro Manila due to tropical storm Isang. The announcement came this morning, already past 8:00 a.m. when most workers were already got to their respective offices. Well, it's better late than never.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) also suspended classes in all levels in Metro Manila and in other affected provinces at an earlier time this morning.

"We are suspending work in view of the flooding and continuous rain, and in view of the recommendation of the Office of Civil Defense and the National Disaster Coordinating Council,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said in a phone interview.
