Now, who says braces are only for the rich? If you know where to go, you could actually pay for braces for less. Some dental clinics offer a hefty price for braces. But there are also nice ones that offer quality service at a lower price.
It was Angie who recommended this dental clinic to me and I was hesitant to go there at first. (The price the dentist asks is really cheap as compared with other dental clinics. I think the regular pricing for braces range from 30K to 40k and higher for the up and down set.) But at some point, I got desperate and overly excited that I really wanted to get braces for my teeth before the holidays are over.
So, yesterday, without further a do, I went with Angie to this dental clinic in Sta. Cruz to get things done. When we got to the clinic, I was surprised to see a long line to the door. This only means two things: it's either the dentist is good-looking or is good at what she does. I waited for my turn to find out. Several door movements later, I finally got seated in the patient's chair.
Measurements were made, teeth-related questions were asked and finally, the placement of orthodontic brackets a.k.a. braces ensued. It was done in less than an hour. I paid the down payment and left the clinic with a smile.
But that smile didn't last that long.
Sooner than later, I had to adjust with the foreign object attached to my teeth. I now look a bit different than before. I guess I'll just pretend everything's fine even when it's not. Talk about self-preservation. My eating habits will definitely change, that's for sure. Ehem, this is a plus and I love it. I need to lose the pounds I gained during the stretch of the holidays. Hopefully, the difficulty in chewing resulting from the placement of braces on my teeth will help kill my appetite, if not regulate it.
I don't really know how braces work to move the teeth until I came across this article. I hope my braces get the work done in my mouth just like how the article explains about the work of the impressive little gadgets called braces. I heard cases wherein people who have had braces didn't see any results. In my case, it's still a matter of time to find out. For now, I'll just put my best effort to adjust to the new way of things inside my mouth.
About the cheap but quality braces, email me at edelweisss_19(at)yahoo(dot)com so I can disclose to you the price and the contact information of the dental clinic I went to.
Have you ever had braces? How easy or difficult your situation had been? :)
