The recent Belo event I attended taught me some valuable lessons. Let me enumerate these lessons as I narrate how awesome this small gathering of bloggers had been. I was with my
Superfriend and we both had a great time. Sincere thanks go to
Mica for the invites and all the good things we experienced at the event dubbed as "Belo Open House for Bloggers" held at BeloMed-Tomas Morato Branch.

1. Confidence is for anyone who wants to make the best of him/herself. Not all of us are born with great looks. To be confident is not always a matter of acceptance, sometimes you have to improve yourself (physical or psychological) to exude the confidence that will give others the idea of your real worth as a person.

Dr. Vicki Belo started her booming business by building her confidence first. She went on to turn the negativity that surrounds her to positive things. Now, she has carved her own niche in the beauty industry and is very successful. The bloggers who attended the event were lucky to have her speak briefly in front of them sharing about herself, flaws and all.
2. Happiness is a choice. If you choose to be happy, you will be happy and no one can take that happiness away from you. I guess it all boils down to how you want to live your life. As for me, I want to live a happy life. If you think a facial or a noselift will make you happy, get one and never mind what other people will think of your vanity.

Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr. served as the host to the awesome event that lasted until midnight. He gave a short lecture about the Belo Medical Group as a company and the services it offers. Take note that eighty percent of the services at BeloMed is non-surgical which is quite far from most people's initial impression. Take note also that Dr. Kho was not only good-looking but was also approachable and humorous. I heard that people at BeloMed are generally sociable and friendly. I believe they really need to because the nature of their work requires dealing with people.
After the brief lecture, we were given the chance to try the different beauty equipments/devices. Superfriend and I tried the Tenor and had fun. If I had money to spare, I will get Tenor sessions to get rid of those accumulated fats in the different areas of my body. Haha. Next was the skin analysis where I learned of my skin impurities.*sigh*

3. Always look your best and be your confident self to widen your prospects. By prospects, I mean opportunities. It could be work or just about anything. The fact that you know you're at your best gives further boost to any endeavor you are in.

The dinner that was held at Packo's Grill was sumptuous. It was served buffet style which made me happy. At least if I wanted more, I could always get a second serving. Lol. Actually, it was my first time at Packo's Grill and I was surprised to find out that their food is delicious. Kudos to the chefs!

4. Friends are forever. Yes, friends are like diamonds. The more time you spend with them, the more reasons to celebrate friendship. Superfriend and I have been friends since college. I hope the friendship lasts a lifetime. If I'm not mistaken, this is the sixth blogger event that Superfriend and I have attended. And as always, we enjoyed it.
The dinner was also a time for bloggers to socialize offline. I had fun chatting with
Ms. Janet Torral,
Jeric,
Jehzeel,
Brian,
Joy and the rest of the bloggers. My blogging community is getting wider and wider as time passes by. I am really pleased. I hope to make friends with more bloggers by the end of the year. I have realized that blogging is worthless if you don't forge friendships by reaching out to the blogging world.
5. Always bring a decent camera to document events. Okay, this may not sound as a valauble lesson to you, but for me, it is. I was supposed to borrow Edwin's digicam but got lazy to get it from their house the last minute. I contented msyelf with my phone's built-in camera. It's a good thing the results are quite pleasant to look at. At any rate, I'll make sure to bring a decent camera during blogger events like this. Or better yet, I'll save up to buy a DSLR. Wish me luck.

Super thanks to
Belo Medical Group (particularly to Dr. Belo, Dr. Kho and Mica) for organizing such an awesome event. I hope to get invited to events like this in the future. Haha. Seriously, I wish BeloMed continued success, especially now that I learned they give back to the community through a foundation (Ike and Nene Belo Foundation) that presently focuses on correcting physical deformities among babies and providing scholarship grants to deserving students, among others. If all local companies do such a thing, then maybe the Philippines will be a better place to live in. :)
