BLPP is supposed to provide dial-up internet connection at a maximum of 128 kbps. Pretty impressive, huh! Let's see if they deliver on their promise. When my siblings and I tried it the first time, the connection was quite fast. YM conversations were pretty stable, even the webcam displays were updated. There were several interruptions (i.e. connection-has-timed-out pop-ups) though when we opened four or more sites simultaneously. I think it got more than what it could take.
Anyway, the good thing I noticed about BLPP is that it doesn't eat up load credits. It really charges P0.35 per minute as indicated in the brochure. We burned P47.10 for internet that night.
The truth is, I'm not new to BLPP as I've been using it since last year. My boyfriend has it at home and he lets me borrow it every now and then. My experience with BLPP is pretty pleasant so I did not hesitate to get one for myself when the right time came.
I don't intend to use BLPP as a mobile internet device so I guess it will work just fine at home. If you're just into plain surfing (like my siblings), this can do the job. If you're a blogger like me that's into paid blogging, I think this can only serve as an alternative. You better have a DSL ready especially when meeting deadlines.
The rating? Three stars out of five. BLPP is good (performance-wise) but it is NOT always dependable. If the service gets better in the future, I'll be the first one to be happy.
