I Joined Canon Photomarathon 2010!

Posted by edelweiza in , , , ,

This is my second time to participate in the always, much-anticipated Canon Photomarathon. Just like last year's, I used my ever-dependable DSLR Flinch, a Canon 1000D. This time though, I was with the company of a smaller group of bloggers composed of my Superfriend Nice, Arvin, JP, Alex and Vince. Nevertheless, we had as much fun and perks.

Now on its fifth year, Canon Photomarathon 2010 has been a resounding success. Held last November 6, Saturday at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, there were more than a thousand participants. I was part of the media VIP list along with my blogger friends.

Nicole of Agatep, our PR contact, made sure we feel comfortable all throughout the event. She would remind us of our remaining time (there were time limits for each theme: two hours shooting, 30 minutes downloading) and would check on our condition every now and then. Sweet.

The event started with a short program and ended with a party-like reception. The meals and the apparels were provided by Canon Philippines for free, of course with help from various sponsors. There were booths on site providing free camera cleaning services as well as other stalls providing sample products to participants.

The three themes for the contest, on the other hand, came in riddles and it was up for the contestants on how they would interpret them. For the first theme, we went out of our way and trooped to Rizal Park to shoot. For the second and final theme, we run out of time and contented ourselves with the nearby Mall of Asia and the grounds outside.

Some sample photos I took during the event:

Though we didn’t win, we went home with a cool souvenir – a wide lens-like Canon mug. The experience of joining in this one of a kind event has already made us winners in our own right. That should be enough to keep us going as we continue to improve our photography skills.

Good luck to you!

Uhhhmmm hey... Wondering if you could attach my Christmas Card in any of your future posts. By doing so, you get a chance to win a Brandnew Blackberry phone from the number 1 Pinoy-owned website in the Philippines... (Even if you're not in the Phils right now for as long as you have a Philippine address.)

You can also create your own Christmas card and get a chance to win fabulous prize. (You can be both a poster of somebody else's Christmas card and a contestant. :D)

You can get the code of my Christmas card and read about the details of the contest here: http://pinoylandia.blogspot.com/2010/11/isang-masagana-at-makabuluhang-pasko.html

Please leave a comment on my blog if you did attach my Christmas Card.

Thanks and more power!

wasn't able to see you there.

I came there as a Canon user. Enjoyed the event even though it was really tiring :)

I was truly ecstatic upon receiving the souvenir!
