So we got retained and all, but one thing remains the same –it’s temporary. We were just given another six years to work in the office. It’s not that I’m not happy because in reality I am very much so, it’s just that it’s only a cycle. It has a start and it has an end. Am I taking it negatively? Of course not, it’s just that I’m trying to accept this fact with an open mind.

Like I said before, I’ll use this new lease at work to make myself more competitive. Right now, I’m already mapping out my six years in the Palace: the things I should look forward to and the things I must accomplish for the advancement of my career. God help me. I know it’s gonna be hard. But I’m up for the challenge, if only for my family and to prove to myself that I can do it.

I’m really determined when it comes to achieving my goals in life. The only thing that frustrates me these days is my inability to control my weight. No matter how much promotional water and beverages I drink, my metabolism remains very slow. I even plan to get myself some promotional wrist bands or better yet, silicone wristbands, with a reminder that says something like “Eat Less, Weigh Less.” To motivate me to lose some weight, why not? Haha. But I digress.

Actually, I’m also thinking about switching to a different career. From government service, I want to shift to teaching. I can feel this is something I can do better and more effectively. I’m considering teaching in a university as an option after my 6-year stint in my present office. God help me.
