The phrase ‘lapse of judgment’ is quite popular among Filipinos especially at the height of the Hello Garci scandal involving Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She apologized to the Filipino people on national TV and admitted that she had a ‘lapse of judgment’ by contacting COMELEC Comm. Garci just to ask about the results of the presidential elections in Mindanao. This was during Elections 2004 when the former president was one of the candidates.
But I digress.
Last night, I had a ‘lapse of judgment’ by doing something just because other people I know did it. I don’t wanna elaborate on the matter, though. All I can say is that it was not illegal and I didn’t hurt anyone because of it. It’s more of a simple favor that is acceptable to some people but not to others.
I deeply regret committing the act. I just realized it could get me into some serious trouble and leave me helpless. I won’t do it again. Ever.
