While I love my current job and it satisfies my financial needs more than my previous one, the fact that it's only contractual occasionally worries me. Just like many people, I'm afraid to lose my job because I have a family to feed. Also, I have this sort of job-related phobia as my dad lost his job just when I was about to enter the university. Which made me the breadwinner of our family for years now.

I have always preferred a job in the government over one in the private sector. I believe that the former is more stable than the latter. But it seems that is not the case with me even if I work for the government. My contract is about to end on June 30, at exactly the same date when the next President of the Philippines is scheduled to get installed. There is a possibility that we get absorbed into the office by the new boss, though. But the chances are slim. Still, I hope to get retained in my job but if fate dictates otherwise, I'll accept it but with a heavy heart.

Well, I guess I better start sending out resumes now to prospective companies. This time, my options are open to both the private and the government service.

Wish me luck, friends! :)

Co-terminus pala ang work mo w/ Madam?

Being on that same boat years ago, my unsolicited advise is just be yourself and exude confidence at all times. I'm sure you'll land a job that you rightfully deserve.

Good luck, Edel!:)

As they say, when a door closes, a window opens. There are plenty of opportunities (often better ones) out there, especially now that you have more experience. :) I wish you all the best!
