My Holy Week was anything but boring. Edwin's twin cousins (Tyn and Dave) showed up at their gate Thursday afternoon and we had them in their house until Sunday morning. They are 9 years old and both are smart kids. We did Visita Iglesia together and we did it the digital way. (We said our prayers using the iPhone app dedicated to the Station of the Cross in Edwin's iPhone and Albie's iPod Touch!). We treated the twins to some chickenjoy at Jollibee-Hidalgo Branch after saying the last station prayer inside the Quiapo Shrine.

The entire Friday we were just slacking off in the house watching pirated DVDs and sharing funny moments with the twins. Kids can really add color and fun in the life of adults. They naturally have this unique charm within them that never fails to brighten up our mood. On Saturday, we took the twins to the mall and let them play at Time Zone using the tokens Albie bought. You can say we spoiled them and they loved every minute of it. Oh how I miss being a kid!
We also heard mass on Saturday night and watched the salubong, a sort of religious rite remembering the rise of Jesus on the eve of Easter Sunday through a play. The kids who played angels were so cute. I had fun watching them, particularly those that looked bored from standing long and those that looked confused because they didn't know what to do next. I wonder what their mothers (part of the audience) thought about that. Hehee.

one of the little angels got tired of standing already! :)
Sunday was ordinary. We just slept and ate the day away. I was craving for kiampong from Cafe Mezzanine in Binondo but nobody wanted to join me and go all the way there. Well, it was their loss because my Google Adsense cashout was saved.
Whenever Holy Week arrives, I say a long prayer of gratitude to God. He's been very good to me and my family the past years. And just like other Christians, I ask for forgiveness and repentance. Holy Week doesn't happen all year around and I think it's the only time I can communicate with God on a more personal level and with less distractions. Plus, I get to do other religious things aside from hearing Sunday mass.
Again, my family wasn't able to spend Holy Week together. But it's okay. Next Holy Week will be different with my mom and li'l sis coming to Manila very soon.
How about you, how did you spend the recent Lenten Season? :)
