Personally, I have yet to feel the effects of El Niño. I can still sleep well at night and our house doesn't run out of water. Yet. In the office, I even almost always get chilled to the max because of the air-con. I think it (the air-con) needs check-up as it cools our room as fast as the speed of light. It's not normal, isn't it? That, or maybe I'm just not used to extremely cold temperature.
Actually, my problems these days are purely domestic in nature. Two of my relatives are sick (an aunt and a cousin). My mother, who lives in Negros with li'l sis Jodie, went to Cebu yesterday to check on my aunt's condition. She's presently confined in a hospital there. My cousin, on the other hand, will go under the knife today due to a cyst found in her undisclosed body part. (I really hope and pray her surgery becomes successful.)
With my mom being away, Jodie is left at home to fend for herself. Though another aunt is checking on her every once in a while, I can't help but worry about her well-being because she has asthma. You know how bad asthma attacks can be. I told her to be strong and to just pray. She's a big girl now and she should start acting like one.
Whenever I have a problem or something's bothering me, I try not to worry much. I just pray to God for guidance, intervention and providence. I also take time to analyze the problem and think hard on how to solve it at once. Sometimes I ask Edwin's opinion/advice if I find it too overwhelming. Then I make decisions and execute my plan of action carefully. Most often than not, my solutions work like a charm! That, my friends, is how I cope during trying times. It may or may not work for you but for me, it's already an effective formula that solves whatever problem or difficulty comes my way. It's pretty simple, actually. It's 80% faith, 8% rational thinking, 7% effort and 5% patience. Nothing beats that for me.
Too much stress can lead to diseases and diseases has the ability to take whatever little money I have. That's why I make it a point not to let problems ruin my day. The earlier I face the problem, I earlier I am able to solve it. It's just a matter of taking things seriously when it's time to take things, well, seriously. :)
