Last Saturday was a busy yet fun-filled day for me. Superfriend and I met up at 10:00 a.m. for an appointment with the doctor. By past 11:00 a.m., we were in a cab on our way to a press briefing at Cafe Juanita in Burgos Circle, Taguig. It was all about Unilab Run United for Wellness, a health and wellness event for the family organized by Unilab, 'the largest and leading pharmaceutical and healthcare company' in the Philippines.
From Taguig, we headed to Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong City to support an advocacy event by The White Hat Italian Frozen Yogurt. It's part of their Celebrity-for-Charity project where customers get served with 'the best-tasting frozen yogurt' by celebrities. The celebrity that time were the members of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the charity was AHON (Acts of Hope for the Nation) Foundation.
The White Hat showed their gratitude to all who supported this worthy cause by holding a special screening of Valentine's Day at 8:00 p.m. I particularly enjoyed this love-themed film with an all-star cast. It's a feel-good and must-see movie.
The next day, Sunday, was Valentine's Day. As if defying the norms and walking away from commercialism at all costs, Edwin and I just had a simple lunch at the mall along with Albie to celebrate the occasion. I also programmed myself for work that night as we had many couples dining in the restaurant. It was Valentine's Day, after all.
In other news, Edwin got me three heart-shaped Krispy Kreme doughnuts in blueberry cheese cake flavor for Valentine's Day. They were so cute and sweet that I forgot to take a photo of them. The roses and chocolates didn't find me until this morning in the office. I'm cheery and thankful. :)
