Different Methods to Quit Smoking Permanently

Posted by edelweiza in , , ,

Cigarette smoking is dangerous to one’s health. Many Filipino smokers are familiar to this statement. Who wouldn’t be if it’s stamped on every pack of cigarettes sold in the Philippines? But despite this serious warning about the health risks of smoking, many people still smoke, Filipinos and non-Filipinos. Does this mean the diseases associated with smoking are not scary enough? Or are smokers just too stubborn to not care? Only them know the answer.

Cigarette smoking is an issue close to my heart. I may not be a smoker (and never will be) but I know a lot of people who do. In my family alone, both of my parents smoke. They started smoking long before I was born. The bad vice has stuck and has never been stopped. Even if they have told me in the face once that they didn’t have plans to stop supplying their lungs with great amounts of nicotine on a daily basis, my efforts to make them quit smoking remain steadfast. I feel it is my responsibility as a concerned daughter to do so.

Quitting smoking may be hard but it is doable. There are various effective methods to make people quit smoking permanently. These include nicotine replacement therapy, prescription medications, herbal quit smoking products, books and audio CDs and hypnosis therapy, among others. The smokers only have to choose the right method for them. But as in any major lifestyle changes, the process of smoking cessation entails hard work and determination to be successful.

i remember an incident, siguro a year after yun.. haha.. me and the bf has a little bit of LQ.. sa jeep.. e ayaw nya din ng amoy ng yosi.. nasa dulo kami nakaupo malapit sa babaan.. then may sumakay na lalaki.. starting to lit his cigarette.. nagulat ako kay bf..

bf: brad baka pede pakipatay ng yosi mo.

lalaki: (no he doesnt even utter a word) bigla na lang naitapon yung yosi nya..

hehe gusto ko talaga matawa kasi nga seryoso si bf.. saka mejo mas malaki sya dun sa guy..

napatingin ako dun sa lalaki, napapailing sya.. siguro nanghihinayang sa bagong sindi nya na yosi..
