Edwin got a hair cut last weekend and I accompanied him to the barber shop. Edwin's family has this suking manggugupit (favorite barber) named Boy. He's been cutting Edwin's hair since he was a little kid. Edwin's family has developed a friendship with him over the years.
Kuya Boy, as we fondly address him, is a happy man. He'd always throw a joke or two whenever we get to chat with him. Sometimes he'd share some mind games for us to solve. That day he gave an easy mind puzzle. "What kind of snack has a middle that cannot be eaten?, he asked. After thinking about it for a few seconds, I immediately answered "doughnut." I was correct and he was delighted. He clapped his hands in appreciation. Surely, the man knows how to have fun. It's always a pleasure to have him around. On our next visit, we plan to bring him a box of doughnuts for merienda.
Speaking of doughnuts, did you know that our favorite doughnut brand Krispy Kreme has an exciting promo? Dubbed as Krispy Kreme FaveFan Promo, it's one of the highlights of its 72nd Anniversary this year. Basically, it's a search for the ‘favorite fan’ in each of the 9 participating countries: the UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines.
