It's official. July 27 of this year and the years ahead is a special working holiday in the Philippines. It is now called Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Day. This is following President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's declaration yesterday keeping with Republic Act 9645 which she signed into law on June 12, 2009. The declaration recognizes the founding of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) in the Philippines by Rev. Felix Y. Manalo on July 27, 1914.
Well, I guess it's about time. The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) is the largest independent church in Asia and is already a force to reckon with in Philippine society. Over the years, they have grown in number and expanded their ministry in various parts of the world.
