A(H1N1) Virus, better known as Swine Flu, continues to make its sickly presence felt in our shores. As of June 16, 2009, the Department of Health (DOH) said on their website we already have 247 confirmed cases of swine flu. Just this morning, more schools in Metro Manila have suspended their classes due to the discovery of new swine flu cases among their students.
I've shared this at myLot and now here in my blog. I am worried about myself, my family and my friends who may be exposed to the virus without us knowing it. At home, we have taken extra measures to practice proper hygiene. We now wash our hands more often than before and drink vitamin supplements to strengthen our immune system. My mother heard on the radio that calamansi juice is a good Swine flu preventer so I plan to stock some calamansi puree in the fridge this wekeend for everyone's consumption. Definitely, at this point, even little things matter.
I hope and pray this A(H1N1) virus that has victimized thousands of people already from various parts of the world be eliminated soon. We know we can't afford to lose our loved ones this way. This epidemic should be stopped. And we all should work together for that to happen.
In monitoring Swine flu updates in the Philippines, media and the Internet help a lot in disseminating valuable information to the public. I make it a point to get updated with the works of A(H1N1) virus from TV and online news. It always pays to be updated.
How about you? What are you thoughts about the Swine flu spread in the Philippines?
