My parents are not getting any younger. They're both in their early 50's already. As time goes by, I can see that they’re bodies are beginning to weaken, their bones getting more brittle than before and their memory are now failing them on occasions. As much as possible, I want to give my parents the best health care there is. We’ve heard a lot of stories of people in their advancing age (senior citizens, that is) who fell on the floor or hit their heads on the wall by accident. Eventually, they became bed-ridden and died an untimely death. Sad news, but can we prevent them from happening?
Technology has the answer to that. These days, there are now gadgets that provides medical alert to prevent elderly accidents at home. Fall Detector and GPS Tracking Bracelet are two of the well-known security gadgets for elderly in the United States. The former alerts emergency personnel that your grandparent or parent has fallen and needs medical help. The latter, on the other hand, has a 2-way speakerphone that our elderly can use like a mobile phone and allow us to track them in case they got lost due to an Alzheimer’s attack.
Isn’t it just great there are now gadgets like these that provide high level of assistance and security to our elderly? We owe most, if not everything, to our parents. I just realized providing them with medical alert gadgets is the least we can do to show them that we care about their well-being.
