Happy 111th Philippine Independence Day to all Filipinos the world over! I know our country is confronting many challenges and issues at present (hello Con-Ass, Swine flu spread, sex video scandal, land reform calls, extra-judicial killings, 2010 presidential elections, etc.) but I don't wanna spoil your day and mine by voicing out my sentiments on the matters. Surely, there's another time for that. On a lighter note, Google and Yahoo!, two top search engines in the Philippines, didn't get left behind when it came to extending their Independence Day greetings to us through their personalized logos showing on their sites today.

How's that as a way of connecting to Filipinos on a personal level?
Let me take this opportunity also to pay tribute to the gallant Filipino men and women who were responsible for the freedom we are enjoying today. Again, thank you, wherever you are. I salute you all and hope that in some way, I could also do my share in making our country a better place to live in.
