I have to admit dental health has been the least priority in our household for the past 20 years. My mom would just make sure we brush our teeth three times a day and that’s it. She would only initiate a visit to the dentist when our teeth need repair or have to be extracted. I guess we’re just lucky because we have strong teeth and there is no need for any major improvements on them.

I only cared seriously about my dental health when I got myself braces in January 2009. Prior to the installation of the braces, I really worked hard to save enough money for the down payment. I still pay the monthly fees until now. I just realized if I had dental insurance then, this would’ve not been the situation. By now, I will have been receiving assistance for my routine dental checkups (I have my braces adjusted monthly) and other emergency treatments. I know it's not too late to get one today.
